This piece focuses on the technical elements of line, repetition, and rhythm. Conceptually, the work represents the abstracted unique textural elements of a log. The stark black lines, which exhibit unity and variety through varied line thickness and direction, also give a shallow sense of depth, through overlap of the organic forms. Overall, the intertwined natural forms create a visually interesting overlap and naturally lead viewer's eyes through the piece.
